Digital fabrication is the creation of physical objects from digital files utilizing a variety of approaches including 3D printing, laser-cutting, and CNC machining. It is being increasingly integrated into a wide range of disciplines and at all levels of education from grade school to higher education.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>This year&#8217;s Digital Fabrication Symposium is hosted at UNT&#8217;s Willis Library and The Factory and will include a series of workshops, panels, and presentations, including a keynote presentation by Laura Splan, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.laurasplan.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener noreferrer\">http:\/\/www.laurasplan.com\/.&nbsp;<\/a>In conjunction with the symposium, there will is a curated exhibition focused on digital fabrication in UNT\u2019s Environmental Sciences Building, with a reception the evening of the symposium. More information about the exhibition is available here: <a href=\"https:\/\/art.unt.edu\/digital-fabrication-symposium-exhibition\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener noreferrer\">https:\/\/art.unt.edu\/digital-fabrication-symposium-exhibition<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Danielle Avram is the curator for the Symposium Exhibition and a writer based in Dallas, TX. She is currently the Gallery Director at Texas Woman\u2019s University. She was the 2015 Pollock Curatorial Fellow at Southern Methodist University, and the Manager of The Power Station and The Pinnell Collection from 2011 \u2013 2013. From 2008 \u2013 2011, Avram was the Curatorial Assistant for the Department of Photography and Modern and Contemporary Art, at The High Museum of Art in Atlanta, GA. She has an MFA in Visual Art from The School of The Museum of Fine Arts and Tufts University (2006, Boston, MA), and a BA in Art and Performance from the University of Texas at Dallas (2002, Dallas, TX).
