Client : Creative Writing MFA – Fairleigh Dickinson UniversityDesign, Code, and Master MFA Website for over 10 years

The Creative Writing MFA Department website served as a central platform for promoting the work of faculty and alumni writers, with a particular focus on published books, literary achievements, and program visibility. The site was designed to showcase writers and their publications in a clear, editorial-driven format—supporting book launches, faculty profiles, readings, and award recognition — while maintaining the departments mission, curriculum, credibility, and standards of an academic institution. Over more than a decade, the website functioned as both an archival record of literary output and an active promotional tool for the department’s writers and their work.

Branding Expansion & Writing Awards Identity

Though I did not design the FDU icon, While leading the design and development of the Creative Writing MFA department’s WordPress website, I was asked to extend my role to include a refresh of the Creative Writing MFA Department’s visual identity and the creation of a new logo for its Writing Awards program. This work involved re-evaluating the department’s existing brand presence and developing a clearer, more cohesive system that could function across digital and print contexts. The updated identity aligned the department’s academic credibility with its creative mission, ensuring consistency across the website, promotional materials, and award communications. For the Writing Awards, I designed a distinct yet complementary logo that could stand on its own while remaining visually connected to the department brand. The mark was intended to support annual use across multiple years, appearing on the website, event materials, and recognition assets without requiring redesign.
