Mechanized Sketches

Mechanized Sketches was presented as part of a faculty exhibition at the University Gallery in 2023. The work explored drawing as a time-based, performative process through the use of custom-built mechanical systems. These machines guided mark-making through gravity, motion, and chance, producing sketches that evolved continuously rather than resolving into fixed compositions. The installation emphasized process over outcome, highlighting the relationship between control and unpredictability, and positioning drawing as an active, physical event within space.
